Guilin Sanhua Wine

Guilin Sanhua Wine is one of the "Three Treasures of Guilin," with a thousand-year brewing history, named for the three layers of bubbles ("three flowers") that form when the wine is shaken, a representative of Chinese rice-flavored baijiu. It is made from high-quality rice, brewed with spring water from the source of the Lijiang River, through multiple processes such as steaming rice, fermentation, distillation, and aging. With an alcohol content of about 52 degrees, it has an elegant aroma and a soft, sweet, and refreshing taste. Opening the bottle, you can smell a faint rice aroma and floral and fruity notes; it is not spicy in the mouth, with a 明显 (míngxiǎn, obvious) sweet aftertaste and a clean finish. Sanhua Wine is not only a good drink but also a "secret weapon" for Guilin people in cooking—adding a little when stir-frying snails or braising meat can remove fishiness and enhance freshness, making dishes more flavorful. In Guilin's wine culture, Sanhua Wine has a high status, known as the "King of Rice Wine." Old wineries still retain the traditional pottery jar aging process, and the wine matures slowly in the jars, with an increasingly rich aroma. As a souvenir, Sanhua Wine has very Guilin-style packaging, often with patterns of Elephant Trunk Hill and Lijiang River, an excellent choice for tourists to take away the flavor of Guilin. Foreign visitors may need to drink it in small sips but will be impressed by its unique rice aroma, finding this baijiu like a "refreshing rice baijiu," an important symbol of Guilin's food culture.
